Beginner Bike Tours in Europe First cycling holiday? Start here — flat routes, luggage transferred, no stress
You don't need to be a cyclist to have a cycling holiday. Our beginner tours are designed for people who can ride a bike — that's all. Flat riverside paths, 40–60 km per day, your luggage waiting at each hotel when you arrive. 18 easy tours available.
Yes, You Can Do This
The most common question from first-time cycling holiday guests is "am I fit enough?" The honest answer: if you can ride a bike around town, you can do our beginner tours. The key difference between a city ride and a multi-day tour isn't fitness — it's logistics. And we handle all of that.
Flat terrain means no grinding climbs. Paved cycling paths mean no rough tracks. Luggage transfer means no heavy panniers. Route notes mean no map-reading anxiety. What's left is the good part: pedalling through beautiful landscapes, stopping when you want, arriving at a comfortable hotel each evening with a proper sense of achievement.
What Makes a Tour Beginner-Friendly?
Our easy tours follow rivers — the Danube, Elbe, Vltava, Morava. Rivers don't go uphill. Expect gentle gradients and mostly paved cycling paths.
Short enough to feel easy, long enough to feel like an achievement. Plenty of time for lunch stops, village detours, and afternoon coffees.
Your bags travel by van to the next hotel while you cycle light. You carry only what you need for the day — water, snacks, a rain jacket.
Detailed written instructions and GPS tracks for every section. No map-reading required. Signs are plentiful on the major routes.
Add an e-bike to any tour. It won't make you go faster — but it will make hills feel flat and headwinds disappear.
Our team is reachable by phone throughout your tour. Mechanical problem, wrong turn, delayed hotel — we sort it.

Beginner Cycling Holiday Questions
Can a beginner do a multi-day cycling holiday?
Yes — if you can ride a bike comfortably for an hour or two, you can do it. Our easy tours cover 40–60 km per day on flat, paved paths with no significant hills. Luggage is transferred ahead so you only carry a small day bag. E-bikes available for extra help.
How many km per day on a beginner bike tour?
40–60 km per day. This is 2.5–4 hours of riding at a comfortable pace with stops. On flat riverside paths, 50 km is genuinely easy for most people — equivalent to a moderate weekend bike ride.
Do I need a road bike for a cycling holiday?
No — a hybrid or touring bike is better. Wider tyres and an upright riding position are more comfortable over multiple days than a road bike. Most tours include bike rental of suitable touring bikes. E-bikes are also available.
